Our Design Systems team is responsible for the standards, components, patterns and tools used by our designers and engineers to build the best in-class user experience across DoorDash’s three-sided marketplace (Consumer, Dasher, and Merchant). We elevate design craft and provide strategic innovation, making our product experiences intuitive, engaging and joyful.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to lead the visual evolution of our design system, aligning DoorDash’s visual identity across all product touch points. You will bridge product and brand, ensuring that our design system not only meets technical standards but also reflects our brand’s personality. You should advocate for a diverse range of technologies (ie AI) to keep our design system fresh and inspiring.
You will report into the Senior Manager of Design Systems in our Design organization. This role is hybrid, 1-2 days a week onsite from one of our Design hubs and the rest working from home.

- Evolve our design system to maintain a cohesive, engaging user experience.
- Provide creative direction for evolving the system across visual design, motion and animation.
- Promote consistency and quality across design elements, ensuring they follow our design principles and brand guidelines.
- Improve the visual craft bar across the design organization
- Mentor product designers on visual design, brand alignment, and new design solutions.
- Collaborate with our in-house creative agency (Superette) to innovate on behalf of our users
We're excited about you because…
- You have 10+ years of experience in product/brand, with a background in art direction or branding and identity.
- You have 3+ years of experience in design systems.
- You have a broad range of experience as a designer and can effortlessly integrate new technologies into your daily work.
- You excel at guiding and mentoring designers in creating visually compelling, brand-aligned product experiences.
- You are experienced in pixel-perfect execution and cohesive visual storytelling.

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
