As the team focused on acquiring, retaining, and re-engaging our customers, the Consumer Growth team is essential to this mission by driving awareness, discovery, and seamless experiences to help our customers fulfill their daily needs ranging from food delivery to local services. Our notifications strategy and platform is one of our largest drivers of Growth and core to the overall team’s success.

About the Role

This Senior Manager will be part of the Consumer Growth team at DoorDash, leading our Notifications Data Science team. Notifications is already the largest driver of incremental user growth at DoorDash, yet there are still huge opportunities to unlock within our strategy to deliver the best notification experience to our consumers. The types of problems this leader will tackle range from driving greater consumer reachability, to delivering relevant content to the right consumer at the right time, to thinking about the right channels to communicate with our users (push, email, SMS, in-app), to leveraging Generative AI to power recommendations and more. This leader will work closely with the other Notifications cross-functional leads, their DS team, and partners across DoorDash to shape our Notifications roadmap & platform capabilities through data-driven insights, experimentation analyses, opportunity sizing, and more.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists in driving deep analyses and uncovering key drivers of our business, along with your own contributions as an Individual Contributor
  • Influence the Product roadmap by making actionable recommendations based on data
  • Interface frequently with senior leadership to showcase your team’s work and tackle complex business problems
  • Develop data-driven frameworks to facilitate prioritization of high-impact product and operational initiatives
  • Drive measurement strategy for the area under scope, defining success metrics and implementing best practices around experiment design and statistical analysis

We’re excited about you because…

  • 4+ years of experience managing a team of data scientists in a formal or informal capacity, and a track record of delivering impactful analyses
  • 9+ years of experience in Data Science and Product Analytics, primarily in related industries
  • Strength in leading through your technical chops, and ability to leverage it appropriate in the business context
  • Deep understanding of, and hands-on experience with A/B experimentation
  • Experience with data pipelines
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional working skills, including the ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences and influence strategic decisions

We expect to fill this position by 2/21/2025.
