About the Team
Our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team is re-inventing the way consumers think about grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery through both our first-party and third-party operations businesses. DashMart is our first-party offering which serves as a fulfillment platform for DoorDash customers when they need essential items in a hurry – including groceries, household essentials, local favorites and so much more. We have sites all over the country and are expanding the selection we carry and services we offer our customers today!
About the Role
We are looking to hire Associate Managers within the broader DashMart Strategy & Operations - one will be focused on category management and one will be focused on vendor management. Each function is critical to how we partner with CPG brands to ensure our consumers can access the selection they are looking for every time they come to DashMart for their last minute grocery shopping needs.
In these roles, you may lead assortment decisions, vendor partnerships, pricing strategy, sourcing strategy and analytics to accelerate growth and profitability across our DashMarts nationally. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Site Operations, Finance, Pricing and Product to execute against growth initiatives, category specific improvements, operational efficiencies, vendor performance, and so much more. Both roles will be people manager positions, managing a team of 2-3 direct reports. You will be considered for both roles throughout the interview process and we will align on role fit towards the end of the process.
These roles sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and local teams. The best operators today are rapidly reshaping their work with AI at the forefront, actively exploring new tools, automating repetitive workflows, and finding ways to do in hours what used to take weeks. The scope of this role will continue to evolve as AI tools become more powerful and accessible, and we want someone who finds that trajectory exciting rather than unsettling.
We operate in a hybrid model and spend a few days a month in person together in-office and at team offsites! All employees that work on DashMart spend some time visiting DashMarts as well to understand the operation.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own. You will own metrics tied to our Grocery business including selection, supply chain performance, productivity, profitability, affordability and availability.
- Strategize. Own strategy from first principles — defining assortment architecture, supply chain strategy, SKU productivity targets, pricing tiers, vendor mix, and promotional approach to maximize growth and margin.
- Experiment. You’ll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing your larger initiative implementation plans.
- Analyze. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data.
- Lead and collaborate. You’ll lead a team and partner with internal and external non-technical stakeholders.
We’re excited about you because…
- You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.
- You’re analytical. You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modeling in Excel.
- You’re a tool builder. You are AI native and are building your own tools using Claude, Cursor, Gemini, etc. to streamline your work and the work of others!
- You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you.
- You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments
- You have 4-6+ years of professional experience. You’ve succeeded in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, CPG, food & beverage, consulting, manufacturing, etc).
- Bonus points if you have 2+ years of experience with e-commerce, physical retail, or startup environments. Experience in category/vendor management or retail buying is preferred.
- You have completed your BS/BA Degree.
