DOORDASH AIR
BUILDING THE FUTURE OF DRONE DELIVERY
DoorDash Air is our in-house drone delivery program — purpose-built aircraft, full ownership of the hardware stack, and end-to-end integration with the Autonomous Delivery Platform. We’re hiring the engineers and operators building it.
Our Mission
We’ve looked at solutions and emerging technologies — both externally and internally — that add value to the delivery process. What we’ve discovered is that implementing these technologies presents a unique challenge that requires specialized solutions.
In response, we’ve assembled a team in-house and partnered with some of the best in the industry. Optimizing the efficiency of our logistics network to better serve all three audiences has been an iterative process, and makes both our problem and solution unique — one no one else has solved with automation.
We are looking for leaders and doers in the automation space who can help take us to the next level. The Air Delivery team is focused on bringing the dream of fast, efficient, and delightful last-mile delivery through the air to life.
Multi-Modal Delivery Network
DoorDash is building a network that matches each order with the most effective delivery method – Dashers, drones, or autonomous ground robots.
Aerial Delivery
Drones make sense for more remote or suburban deliveries, offering speed and efficiency for lightweight orders.
Ground Autonomy
The DOT robot handles dense suburban deliveries, navigating sidewalks and carrying up to 30 lbs.
Platform Integration
The Autonomous Delivery Platform (ADP) intelligently routes orders to the optimal delivery modality.

Why We Build In-House
Owning the full stack is the only way to truly optimize autonomous delivery.
We built the platform
The Autonomous Delivery Platform (ADP) is ours — created and controlled by DoorDash. It orchestrates every delivery method on a single system, matching each order to the best option in real time.
We opened the ecosystem
ADP is open to everyone willing to deliver for us — Dashers, robots, drone operators, and autonomous vehicles alike. Anyone who can move an order can plug into the network.
Now we're building the hardware
Our own drones are the next evolution. The only way to fully optimize an autonomous delivery platform is to have granular control over the hardware stack itself — and to show what we believe is the best path forward.
