Job ID: 3415893

DoorDash Technologies Canada Inc.

Toronto, ON

About the Team

Within Finance & Strategy, the Product Finance team partners closely with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Procurement, and other cross functional teams to support investment decisions across DoorDash’s technology ecosystem. This role will focus primarily on cloud infrastructure and broader Engineering technology spend, helping DoorDash improve financial visibility, strengthen forecasting, and ensure resources are deployed efficiently as the company scales.

We expect this role to be remote, with opportunities to connect with the broader Finance & Strategy team in person several times throughout the year. Team members may also work from our Toronto office or coworking spaces in Vancouver, if desired. This role reports to a Manager on our Finance & Strategy team based in the US.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Associate to help manage and analyze a significant portion of DoorDash’s Engineering technology spend, with a primary focus on cloud infrastructure.

You will own recurring forecasting, reporting, and close-related processes while partnering with Engineering, Cloud FinOps, Accounting, and other cross-functional teams to understand cost drivers, investigate variances, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. You will also support longer-term planning and investment decisions across cloud and R&D software.

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working with large and complex datasets, learning technical concepts, building scalable financial processes, and translating detailed analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis for a large and complex portfolio of Engineering technology spend, with a primary focus on cloud infrastructure and additional coverage of R&D software.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Cloud FinOps teams to understand the operational and technical drivers of cloud spend, distinguish business growth from inefficiency, and identify opportunities to improve utilization and cost effectiveness.
  • Support monthly close processes in partnership with Accounting, including developing accrual estimates, reconciling operational data to booked actuals, and investigating material variances.
  • Lead quarterly and annual financial planning for your areas of ownership, working with cross-functional partners to understand business priorities, forecast future demand, and evaluate tradeoffs.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models and reporting that provide leadership with clear visibility into spend trends, risks, opportunities, and performance against budget.
  • Deep-dive into complex financial and operational questions, using financial, usage, and technical data to identify root causes and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Evaluate potential investments and cost optimization opportunities, quantify their expected financial impact, and help stakeholders make informed decisions about where to allocate resources.
  • Improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of recurring financial processes through stronger data, automation, documentation, and use of AI-enabled tools.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, FinOps, or a related analytical role at a high-growth technology company or well-established organization.
  • You have advanced Excel and financial modeling skills and can build robust, scalable models used for forecasting, planning, variance analysis, and investment decisions.
  • You have experience owning or supporting budgets, forecasts, or financial reporting for a large or complex area of spend.
  • You are comfortable working with large datasets and combining financial data with operational or business metrics to develop insights.
  • You have basic SQL proficiency, or a strong willingness to learn, and are interested in using data and automation to improve financial analysis and reporting.
  • You are intellectually curious and comfortable learning technical subject matter. Prior cloud infrastructure or technology-spend experience is helpful, but not required.
  • You have strong attention to detail and can operate effectively in recurring processes such as monthly close, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • You can work independently in ambiguous environments, identify the right questions to ask, and bring structure to complex problems.
  • You are an effective cross-functional partner who can build trust, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable with, or willing to learn, practical applications of AI within financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.
