At DoorDash, our culture of innovation allows us to tackle exciting new challenges across our business and quickly build, test, and learn. With nearly a decade of operations for DoorDash in Canada, we’ve taken feedback from what matters most to our employees as we shift from a co-working space to a new, dedicated downtown Toronto headquarters.
Our new 2,389-square-meter space is three times the size of our previous office and located right in the heart of the Entertainment District. This space has key features that incorporate our flexible workplace design principles, emphasizing the variety of work points and space types to support any number of work activities from team collaboration to heads down time.
“DoorDash has been connecting Canadian communities for almost a decade, yet we’re just scratching the surface when it comes to innovation and opportunities in the Great White North,” said Shilpa Arora, General Manager of DoorDash Canada.
“Our new headquarters in downtown Toronto will enable us to further expand our Canadian presence, while doubling down on our mission to empower local economies and creating more opportunities for local talent.”

The flexible office space has the distinct local flavor of Toronto, with meeting rooms named after local landmarks and neighborhoods, wall graphics that intertwine the city with DoorDash, and large windows that provide plenty of natural sunlight and an expansive view of the city, as well as a glimpse of Lake Ontario. The space — which features phone booths for private calls, meeting rooms, over 100 sit/stand work stations, a game room, and a parents/wellness room — balances the diverse array of our team’s needs.
Our Toronto team has had increasing energy to come together for moments where they’re connected by design. That’s why a key element of outlining the space was to enhance the ability to host a wide range of events. The space boasts a combination of a cafe and an event space, open collaboration zones, a training room, and a board room large enough to host visitors, local onsites, and encourage maximum collaboration across teams.
At DoorDash, we believe great work can be done anywhere. Rather than requiring employees to work in an office for a set number of days, we recognize that elements of both in-person and remote work will differ depending on how distributed each team is, and the nature of each team’s work. This space is well-designed to fulfill the needs of our Flexible Workplace Model, which gives our people the ability to decide how they want to leverage remote work and time spent together in-person, solving complex problems, learning within a community, and celebrating wins together.
To celebrate the office opening, DoorDash hosted a ribbon cutting with General Manager Shilpa Arora, hosted a DashTalk speaker panel about “Lessons In Leadership: Career Journeys and the Growth of DoorDash Canada,” and facilitated a WeDash meetup where employees use the Dasher app to complete deliveries and stay close to the business.
